Jekus Crobe Rocks Paradise

6/9/06 - Alex, Anthony and Dave rocked the Paradise Rock Club in Boston Friday night in the third round of the 2006 Emergenza Festival. The boys didn't top the vote list, but so what, that hasn't held them back yet and the Emergenza folks have been terrific in giving the band the opportunity to play clubs that most bands don't have the opportunity to play. So many thanks once again to our friends at Emergenza.

Crobe At Harpers Ferry

Despite some technical difficulties, Jekus Crobe played a terrific set to a sparse crowd at the WBCN Battle of the High School Bands on Saturday afternoon, March 18th. Only a few Crobe fans made it to Harpers Ferry in Allston for the show. Check out the Pics. The band started their set fifteen minutes late due to the untimely death of Alex's Marshall amplifier, and the slow response of the musical paramedics. Thankfully, two sympathetic strummers from other bands set Alex up with an amp and distortion pedal. Many thanks go to Max from Porky's Midnight Riders and Joe from Fair Fight for their help.

The boys were not selected for the finals, but enjoyed the experience and thank show producer Alan Rotberg for selecting them to play, Harpers Ferry for hosting the event and sponsors WBCN, Berklee College of Music and After Midnight Productions. Look for the days winner, Mile 23 from Needham High, at an upcoming Jekus Crobe show.

March 4th: Crobe Rocks The Middle East - Downstairs

The boys opened the third night of the second round of the 2006 Emergenza Festival with an energetic set that surely hooked a few new fans! Playing a 25-minute set of all new material that will be on the forthcoming CD "In Search of Something More", the band continued their evolution in songwriting and live performance. A video clip of one of the new songs will be available on this site within a week or so. Again the 18+ show limited the admittance of the Jekus Crobe fan base so the voting totals did not put the band into the third round. The band would like to thank Emergenza for the opportunity to play in these terrific venues and look forward to participating in the future.

Jekus Crobe Rocks The Middle East

Alex, Anthony and Dave played an energetic 25-minute set in the opening round of the 2006 Emergenza Festival to a sparse crowd at The Middle East upstairs on Thursday night. The boys played almost all new material, with the exception of "All Stars Fade," which those in attendance seemed to enjoy. The Crobe fan base didn't turn out to be as large as expected because of the time of year, day of the week and the 18+ age restriction, but it was a terrific night anyway.

Although finishing fifth in audience voting (top four move on), the boys have been asked to play in the second round of the festival, earning what Emergenza officials called a "wildcat" spot. That was great news for the band and the boys are scheduled to play at The Middle East Downstairs on Saturday, March 4. 2006 at 9:00pm. Tickets are $10.00 in advance from the band and $15.00 at the door. The band will be announcing a special promotion for this event as they want to get as many fans there as possible. Check back here in a few weeks for details and remember, if you are under 18 you will be allowed in if you are with at least one of your parents.

More Than $2,000 Raised For Lauren

Jekus Crobe and friends raised more than $2,000 for Lauren Liccardi and her family on Friday night, June 17th. More than 170 people packed the Methuen VFW Hall to Celebrate Lauren's epic battle against cancer. Lauren was able to attend the show after just recently coming home from the hospital and everyone in attendance had a great, and safe, time.

Alex, Anthony and Dave would like to thank everyone who attended the show, bought raffle tickets and Crobe gear and of course the other bands that helped make the show special: Lucky Caderra, Therefore I Am and the duo of Jason Carasquillo and Steve King. Brunswick came to the show but was unable to perform because of show timing and their commitment to another show. The boys appreciate their support and apologize for the timing issues.

Also deserving many thanks are Diane Alaimo for organizing and running the show and sponsors Daddy's Junky Music for donating the P.A. system, ADI Print Solutions for the banner and the Methuen Public schools for supporting the event, printing tickets and for donations to the cause ( especially the Timony School staff).

Jekus Crobe Rocks Paradise

The boys rocked the Paradise Rock Club Friday night as part of the Boston semi-finals of the Emergenza Festival. The first of eight bands to play last night, the crowd was small but enthusiastic when the show started. Although they didn't make the finals at Avalon (this year), many in the crowd, including some of the other bands, thought they were great. Only one band moved on to the finals, which was based on audience vote. Check out the pics on the photos page.

The Emergenza Festival is taking place in 17 US cities, in Canada and throughout Europe and is a competition among unsigned bands. Many of those playing in the festival have been together for as long as a decade, so the boys did well to make it into the semi-finals. It must be noted that playing the Paradise is not a common thing as big name acts such as the Ramones, Elvis Costello, the Cars, U2, The Who, Led Zepplin, Queen and many others have played that stage on their way to fame. Alex, Anthony and Dave would like to thank Jeff Connelly, Walter and everyone at Emergenza for the opportunity to participate in the festival.

The band played upstairs at the Middle East in Cambridge, MA as part of the Emergenza Festival, a worldwide competition of up and coming bands. This year the festival is taking place in 17 U.S. cities, Canada and Europe. Three U.S. winners will play at the Emergenza concert in Germany in August.

Jekus Crobe played with seven other bands and placed 2nd in audience voting, earning them the opportunity to play in the second round which will be held sometime in April or May at the Paradise Rock Club in Boston. We will post the specific date and time once festival organizers let us know.

"It was great to see these young guys play The Paradise. An obvious improvement from The Middle East just proves that these guys will be amazing by the time they're 20."
